Our Story
Hello! My name is Dan Esker. My family and I are on a mission to help homesteaders, gardeners, and farmers cultivate healthy soil and nutrient dense food for the benefit of our families and communities. This mission began to develop over the last several years when our family first discovered the vital relationship between health and nutrition.
Not long before we were married, my wife Jen became chronically sick. She was eventually diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. After visiting doctor after doctor we realized that no one was willing to get to the root of the problem. Every doctor simply wanted to give us a prescription to cover up the symptoms and send us on our way. This prompted us to explore alternative approaches and led us to prioritize food and nutrition—a significant shift from our upbringing. Instead of merely masking issues with quick fixes, we aimed to strengthen our immune systems.
While Jen was battling these issues, I was working in various roles in the agriculture industry. I had done chemical research for several big agriculture companies in the past, and was working as an agronomist making product recommendations to farmers. However my outlook on agriculture started to shift too. Are our current farming practices really the best way? Were we just treating symptoms or solving the root cause of our problems? I began researching and seeking out alternatives. It became clear that much of our food is lacking the nutrition needed for good health. Part of this problem is poor soil health. I began considering how we could better nourish plants by addressing their needs right from the soil. This was the beginning of Angelus Agronomics.
Angelus Agronomics aims to assist farmers, homesteaders, and gardeners in cultivating nutrient-dense crops for their families and communities. Emphasizing working with God's creation to foster a thriving environment for life at all levels on farm: in the soil, plants, animals, and farmers alike. Our services include soil testing and consultation, and fertility inputs that promote healthy soils.
I look forward to working with you.
